Concrete vs. paver driveways: what changes
Concrete is one slab. It takes full pressure from the surface cleaner, it dries fast, and the only things that slow it down are oil, rust and old sealer. Pavers are hundreds of small blocks with sand between them. The face of a paver is softer than concrete and etches if the pressure is too high or the nozzle too close. The sand in the joints washes out if the pass is too aggressive, and once it is gone the pavers shift and the weeds move in.
So pavers get lower pressure, a slower pass and more attention to the joints, and if a lot of sand comes out they need re-sanding after, which is where paver sealing picks up. Travertine is a natural stone and sits between the two: harder to stain than a concrete paver, easier to chip at the edges.
