Why do Sunrise exteriors get dirty?

Sunrise runs from 1960s streets near University Drive all the way west to the Everglades, and the west side lives with it: in the dry season, brush fires out there send smoke and ash over the city, and the June 2026 Atlantic Fire burned more than 4,700 acres just west of Sunrise. On the older east side, Sunrise Golf Village has been sitting by its canals since 1960, so the tile, the stucco and the concrete there have had sixty years of Florida weather.

  • The Everglades edge

    Sunrise borders the Everglades on the west, with Markham Park right on the line. In the dry season brush fires out there can drop ash on western neighborhoods; a fire near Markham Park sent smoke and flakes of soot over neighboring Weston, and the Atlantic Fire in June 2026 burned more than 4,700 acres west of the city. Light ash rinses. Soot rubbed into screens, pool cages and textured stucco needs a real wash.

  • Sunrise Golf Village at sixty

    Norman Johnson started Sunrise Golf Village in 1960, and its Spanish-eclectic homes and canal-view condos are the oldest part of the city. Barrel tile, textured stucco and original concrete that old need low pressure and patience. Citizens asks for a four-point inspection on homes more than 20 years old, and a streaked roof does a sound one no favors in the photo.

  • Lakes, HOAs and 55-plus condos

    Springtree Lakes is 1980s single-family homes with low HOA fees, Welleby is built around its park, and Sunrise Lakes is 55-and-over condos where the association covers most of the outside. The median Sunrise home dates to 1983. On single-family streets the owner books everything; in condo sections, check what the association already covers first.

No. Pure Clean is based in Coral Springs, north of Tamarac, and Sunrise is the southern edge of the service area. There is no Sunrise office. Michael drives down, looks at the house and does the job himself.

Wildfire ash landed on my screens and pool deck. Can I just hose it off?

Light ash, yes, with a gentle rinse once the smoke has cleared. Do not scrub it dry, which grinds soot into screen and stucco. If it has already smeared or stained, it needs a soft wash for the screen and walls and a pressure wash for the deck.

My Sunrise Golf Village home is from the 1960s. Is soft washing safe on old stucco?

Yes. Nothing is applied at high pressure, so sound stucco and paint stay put. Michael walks every side first and points out chalking paint or hairline cracks before the wash, so there are no surprises.

Do you go as far west as Sawgrass and Markham Park?

Yes. All of Sunrise is in the service area, including the Sawgrass Mills side. If you are just past the city line, ask.
