Spanish-eclectic stucco in Sunrise Golf Village
Sunrise Golf Village was started around 1960 by Norman Johnson, and its Spanish-eclectic houses are the oldest part of the city. Sixty years on, most walls carry patches, cracks that were filled and several coats of paint, and each patch takes water and algae a little differently from the wall around it.
Pressure opens those patches back up and pushes water into the fills. The soft wash puts the solution on at low pressure, lets it kill the growth, and rinses it off, so the stucco is cleaned without being tested. Chalking paint and loose patches are pointed out before anything goes on. The canals through the Golf Village also keep the rear walls damp, so the back of the house usually needs more attention than the front.
